It all started in 1994 when CFR’s co-owner Maximiliaan Hoes needed to ship classic cars – which he was trading – from Southern California to Europe.  Instead of hiring a freight forwarder, Max decided to start his own shipping business. The company he founded has now grown into CFR Logistics LLC, a synergistic network of companies on three continents: The main operating entity, freight forwarder and NVOCC CFR Rinkens LLC, primarily ships FAK and new vehicles worldwide.  Green Trucking LLC is CFR’s California port drayage operator and Double-Stack Logistics LLC its domestic intermodal marketing company (IMC). Overseas, CFR Carshippers GmbH in Germany and CFR Rinkens Automotive Logistics in Hong Kong and Chongqing, China, specialize in Silk Road and Europe-South East Asia car transportation in containers by train and ocean. With 159 employees around the world, Max Hoes and co-owner Christoph Seitz strive to widen CFR’s lead in the cars-in-containers niche industry by continuously improving service quality and equipment options, and by delivering exceptional operational flexibility.
